Within flowing waterways, Australian native fish are reliant on various habitat types to ensure their life cycle. This means the free movement within rivers and streams and between estuarine and freshwater environments is necessary.

Over time sand and debris create barriers for this free movement so Water NSW engaged Hitech’s environmentally sensitive method of fish way remediation through vacuum extraction.

Approximately 115 tonnes of sand, soil and debris was removed over 5 days.
